We Are Mischief Makers
Mischief Makers is a creative makerspace in the Upper Beaches neighbourhood of East Toronto that offers art, STEM, and do-it-yourself programming for kids, teens, and adults.
We're an LGBTQ2S+ friendly, neuro-affirming space that hosts a number of workshops, clubs, and events, as well as an after-school program and summer camps, all focused on learning to make. Our facility has everything you need to explore, learn, and create as you acquire skills and knowledge that will help you bring creative ideas to life in a way that promotes zero-waste living and, ultimately, a circular economy.
We strive to create educational programming that teaches the essential skills of mending and repairing what we already have, and building and creating with materials in need of a second (or third!) life. Our community, and our planet, will thrive when we are empowered to be self-sufficient rather than pushed toward constant consumption. We're making mischief and building a better world.
What Is a Mischief Maker?
Our studio defines "Mischief" as an act of chaotic positive creativity. We strive to give back to the community through acts of artistic altruism like creating community art, building pollinator walls, hosting community events, and teaching people how to bring joy and whimsy into their lives through making. Whether it's our continued use of recycled and upcycled materials, our tree in the classroom, our practices of inclusivity, or our focus on repairing rather than replacing, we're not afraid to do things differently by bridging new and old ways of learning.
